I can’t go to Burning Man this year because I just started my new job in May and I don’t qualify for paid vacation until October. All my playa friends are sending the “going off the grid now, see you on the dark side” emails, and it’s sucking so hard for me to be left behind. Argh.
I grew up reading my parents' Gourmet and National Geographic magazines, so it is not surprising that I'm passionate about food and traveling. I love taking pictures of food, visiting city markets, trying new cuisines, and learning to cook them when I get back home.
I've picked porcini mushrooms in the hills of Tuscany, participated in tea ceremony in Kyoto while wearing a kimono, and cooked a Thanksgiving meal for 20 in France. (Protip: turkeys are really expensive in France, and French flour doesn't make very good cornbread.)
