We’ve been having problems with aphids on our roses and vegetables – those little fuckers are everywhere. So, we went to the garden store and bought two tubs of live ladybugs. Ladybugs are beneficial insects; they eat aphids and other garden pests. Sure enough, they went right after the aphids and pretty much decimated the aphid population overnight. This afternoon I went out to have a look at things and discovered they were having a jolly ol’ gangbang in the rose bush:
w00t. Ladybug pr0n!
Tomorrow I’m going to San Jose to attend the CHI2007 conference. This will keep me rather busy. I’ll resume posting pictures from my SW Road Trip 2006 on Wednesday.
James Neeley’s HDR photographs are gorgeous and I started researching how to do HDR this afternoon. This article on Squidoo explains how to make HDR images in Photoshop. I’m already thinking about experimenting.
I grew up reading my parents' Gourmet and National Geographic magazines, so it is not surprising that I'm passionate about food and traveling. I love taking pictures of food, visiting city markets, trying new cuisines, and learning to cook them when I get back home.
I've picked porcini mushrooms in the hills of Tuscany, participated in tea ceremony in Kyoto while wearing a kimono, and cooked a Thanksgiving meal for 20 in France. (Protip: turkeys are really expensive in France, and French flour doesn't make very good cornbread.)
